Why call it an attempt? If you take a look at the map below, you’ll see that I didn’t make it very far. With a base in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, my original plan was to ride to Peru, complete a loop, and return to Bolivia in about a month.
During our two-week trip, we will experience one of the most exciting countries in South America, Bolivia.
From Mendoza, I crossed the Andes mountain range to Santiago, from where I followed the coast north to Antofagasta. From the mining city, I rode towards a higher altitude and into San Pedro in the middle of the Atacama desert.
Our trek begins at the edge of Greenland’s massive ice sheet and over the course of 9 days we’ll trek along the Arctic Circle to the coast on our own. With no civilization between the start and finish, this trek requires complete independence.
